The game tells me to download DirectX or Direct 3D.

DirectX is a free and safe Microsoft program that optimizes your computer's audio and video capabilities.

If you get an error regarding DirectX or Direct 3D, please follow these steps to solve the problem. If you have Windows 8, please click here to solve the problem.

1. First you need to remove the game from your computer. Go to the "start" menu of your computer (usually on the left of your screen, at the bottom) and click on "control panel".
2. Depending on your computer, you now choose "Add or Remove Programs", "Programs and Features", or "Uninstall a program".
3. Select the game you want to remove and click on "Remove" next to it, or "Uninstall" at the top.
4. Then you can click here to download DirectX from the Microsoft website.
5. Follow the steps on your screen to install the latest version of DirectX on your computer. DirectX is required for most games, so we recommend that you always install the latest version.
6. Then click here to download the game again and to reinstall it.

If this doesn't solve the problem, or if you already have the latest version of DirectX, please click here to update your video card's drivers.


Windows 8

It could be that there's a DirectX update, and that you haven't restarted your computer yet. Please do so first.

If that doesn't solve the problem, please follow these steps to fix it:

1. First you need to remove the game from your computer. Left-click with your mouse on the lower left corner of your screen.
2. The start screen will open. Select the game you want to uninstall and right-click it.
3. Choose "uninstall" in the menu that pops up at the bottom of your screen.
4. Look through the list you see, and select the game you want to remove.
5. Click on "Uninstall/Change" in the grey area next to "Organize" to remove the game.
6. Then click here to download the game again and to reinstall it.
